How a Website Redesign Can Increase Engagement

The first question you might ask is, "Do I even need a website redesign?" The answer will depend on asking yourself these questions:

When was the last time my site was refreshed?

  • Every 2-3 years is the aim, but you might be thinking that can get expensive.

  • Redesigns and refreshes don't have to be mean spending thousands of dollars for a brand new website. You might also like your site just as it is, and that's okay, too!

  • Refreshes can be as simple as updating fonts and images, brightening or tweaking the colors, or giving your home page a more streamlined layout.

Is reader engagement decreasing? Are store sales lagging?

  • If either of these has happened suddenly or gradually, then it could be time to look at your site to see where it can be improved.

  • Is it mobile friendly? Is the content engaging and interesting? Is navigation easy (site visitors like to find what they want fast)? Some of these are easy to fix without the expense and trouble of a full redesign.

Is my current site conveying the right message for my brand and goals?

  • Goals change as years pass because how people connect to brands and businesses, and the people behind them change. We all have to adapt. Sometimes this means a few tweaks will solve the issues, and other times it means evaluating your goals and deciding where your online presence gets the job done well, and where it needs work.
